USDT ON BITCOIN
Tether-native USDT returning to Bitcoin via the RGB protocol, commercialized by UTEXO. Client-side validated, Lightning-settled, Bitcoin-anchored — a proof-aware dossier, not a naive balance explorer.
Tether has not yet published a mainnet USDT-on-RGB contract. RGB protocol and UTEXO infrastructure exist, but no native USDT issuance is live on Bitcoin — every anchor Taifoon has indexed necessarily predates it.
What this is
Tether is issuing USDT natively on Bitcoin through the RGB protocol (v0.11.1), commercialized by UTEXO as official issuer and distributor. It returns USDT to the chain where it first launched in 2014 — this time with client-side validation, Lightning settlement, and Bitcoin-anchored security instead of Omni.
This dossier is deliberately not an Etherscan-style balance explorer. RGB is client-side validated: balances, amounts, and transfer history live off-chain in consignments distributed over Lightning, and only a cryptographic seal commitment (an ordinary-looking Taproot spend) touches Bitcoin. A truthful explorer therefore works across three planes with very different observability — see the Data Planes tab.
Why it matters
RGB protocol and UTEXO infrastructure are live. Native USDT issuance on Bitcoin is imminent, not yet shipped — the mainnet Mint base URL and USDT contract id are pending at launch. The anchor indexer below goes live once the backend detector ships.
